This project consisted of a new 43,600 sf, two-story state-of-the-art facility consisting of classroom, administration, gymnasium, common areas, and multipurpose room. The Asheville High School - Rehabilitation project consisted of a multi-faceted, multi-phase (three), multi-building (six) restoration and renovation of 165,000 sf of the Historic Asheville High School campus, while keeping it fully occupied and operational. The overall scope was to restore the shells of six buildings on the historic campus back to proper condition. Our first step was to get familiar with the building which required multiple meetings on-site, walking and inventorying every single aspect of each building with the design team. The new warehouse and manufacturing facility for GAIA Herbs project consisted of a 140,00 sf 30’ clear concrete tilt-wall system with a 15,000 sf single-story office appendage. The main structure included a 20,000 sf clean production room, a future 20,000 sf bottling room, a future 20,000 sf bottling room, a full-service commercial kitchen and the balance used for high-density warehouse racking. This project was a challenge from the beginning trying to manage the Developer’s budget, the Tenant’s expectations, all while keeping the project on a fast track schedule.
