Vannoy served as the Grading Contractor responsible for all sitework on this project which provided the base infrastructure for the Novant Mint Hill Medical Center.
The sitework included Clearing & Grubbing, Erosion Control, Earthwork, Fine Grading, Storm Drainage, 8” Watermains, 8” SS Mains, Stone Base, Curb & Gutter, Sidewalks, Asphalt Paving and Landscaping required to construct over 4,000 LF of new roadway infrastructure as well as a large BMP pond to service the future Novant Mint Hill Medical Center as well as the roadways. The project also included widening and turn lane improvements along existing Albemarle Road as well as Modifications to the existing traffic signal at the I-485/Albemarle Road intersection.
Situated on 82 acres the 207,000 sf, the 36-bed facility houses a 16-bay emergency department and offers maternity services, rehabilitation, cardiovascular services, imaging, a laboratory, and a pharmacy. A medical-office building of 60,000 sf was also included in the building for physician practices and other medical services on the campus. Unique features to the surrounding outdoor areas of the main hospital included a color-changing fountain that was donated by a local family in honor of their son, Matt Clark who passed away from cancer. The exterior also included a large dining courtyard, a healing garden with a pond, and walking trails in the shape of a ribbon complete with benches, arbor swings, and lights between stones that can change to honor medical awareness events.
