Ashe County Library renovation/expansion awarded to Vannoy Construction

Highlights of the renovation-expansion project include expanding the facility to 27,687 square feet, installing a state-of-the-art computer system, a 50-percent increase in shelf capacity for the growing collections of music, movies, books and other print media, double the number of computers available for access and bring the facility into compliance with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act for handicapped access.

Vannoy and Sons Construction was awarded the contract for the project by the county commissioners in March and will be conducting the work on the facility. The estimated cost for the project is just over $3 million.
